We are a patient-oriented practice that strives to put our patients first. We believe that every patient is unique and should be treated with individual care.

Our practice operates with an ethos of excellence, consistently striving to deliver the highest standards of care and innovation in every aspect of our work.

Mission

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life and well-being of individuals by identifying and addressing the root cause of pain/discomfort, movement dysfunctions and health challenges. Through scientifically based assessments and exercise intervention, we strive to restore optimal function, prevent injuries and promote sustainable quality of life. We are dedicated to empower our patients with knowledge and the tools they need to overcome their limitations and achieve their goals so that they may lead active and fulfilling lives.

Vision

Our vision is to be a leading practice in Biokinetics, transforming lives by uncovering and addressing the root cause of physical limitations and pain. We will continue to build the practice on three main pillars: education, empowerment and excellence. By advancing the science and practice of biokinetics, we aim to set new standards for injury prevention, rehabilitation and wellness, creating a society where optimal physical function and well-being are accessible to all.

Professionals Team

Stefan Kearns

My name is Stefan Kearns and I grew up in Kuils River. My journey in sports science and biokinetics began with a passion for enhancing lives through movement and wellness. I earned my first degree in Sports Recreation and Exercise Science at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), followed by an honours degree specialising in Coaching and Conditioning. After a year of practicing as a sports scientist, I had the desire to make a deeper impact on the quality of peoples’ lives. This led me to pursue a second honours degree in Biokinetics.

I wanted my work to reach more people in order to help them live pain-free and optimally. After all, we only have one life, and I believe we should live life to the fullest. Today, with nearly a decade of experience in the field, I am deeply grateful for the guidance provided by my mentors and for the invaluable insights I have gained through hands-on experience across various specialties within the biokinetics profession and medical field. My vision is simple, yet powerful: to help as many people as I can to live fulfilling and pain-free lifestyles while championing the growth and advancement of the biokinetics profession.

In my practice, we bring the latest innovation and technology to rehabilitation and recovery, striving to be at the forefront of what’s possible in rehabilitation of injuries and physical health. I’m dedicated to walking the journey and empowering others to reach their goals and enjoy life to the fullest.

Alison Karsten

My name is Alison. I am from a small town in Namakwaland called Springbok. I obtained my BA Degree in Human Movement Science and Psychology at the Northwest University (2020) and thereafter I completed my Sports Science Honours Degree (2021). I went on to obtain my Biokinetics Honours Degree at the University of the Western Cape (2022). I am a very optimistic person and I believe you can achieve anything you put your mind to. I have a passion for helping people and helping them stay motivated.

I also enjoy hiking, staying active and spending time with family and friends. I have a huge passion for orthopaedic rehabilitation as well as neurological rehabilitation. I love how complex the body is and how, through movement and exercise, one can make a huge difference in an individual’s life.

A motto I live by is my favourite Bible verse: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
